Building a Wearable App

An east coast plumbing company wanted a system for its field staffers to be able to communicate, track and map appointments, manage workflow, keep records – and still have both hands free to do their jobs.

In just a few weeks, Synerzip engineers made it happen. Tasks that used to require holding a smartphone now flow right to their wrists, with smartwatch apps designed for both IOS and Android.

It’s part of the new wave of wearable technology, and Synerzip is at the forefront. The recipe for superior wearable apps starts with voice-to- text technology, then encompasses a refined user experience, powerful mobile apps, usability and speed.

wearable-technology-img-1To accomplish that, Synerzip has a dedicated UX team, seasoned mobile developers, and experts in usability and quality assurance. What they achieved for a plumbing company can translate to countless other businesses and industries.

There’s no question about the popularity and stylishness of wearable technology. The International Data Corporation reports that manufacturers shipped nearly 20 million smartwatches and fitness trackers in the first quarter of 2016 – an increase of 67 percent in just one year.

Now the challenge is to make them more and more useful. Synerzip developers bring a fresh perspective to the challenge of adapting desktop and smartphone capabilities to wearables, and redesigning the whole experience around the watch-level interface. They focus on screen size, navigation patterns, gesture technology, minimizing battery consumption and seamless interactions.

With the technology still evolving, wearable devices still need to sync with smartphones to be truly useful, at least for now. So when you strap on your smartwatch to go to work, don’t forget your phone. On the other hand, if you left that phone behind, at least you’ll know what time it is – and how many steps you need to retrace to pick it up.
